Motivation

Every project is individual. There is no test automation tool or framework, which covers all possible test automation projects. There is less or better fit and waste money spend for finding out, that a tool does not fit. It is not easy to choose the right tool with less or without test automation experience.

Our Open Source test automation tool Prototype is a technical feasibility study for your project. To ensure, that the tool you have chosen has a proven fit on your application under test, normally a sample testcase should be automated to gain experience and to identify problem areas, which might occur in every specific combination of automation tool and application under test. With our tool prototype we build the automation of your testcase on your application under test and provide you the resulting source code, a video of the resulting test automation run and a result report with details of problems identified.

Select one tool for the test automation tool Prototype

Maybe you have started with a tool evaluation and decided, which tool you want to use in your project, or you already know it without an evaluation. In both cases it makes sense to evaluate the tool of choice not only with a desk evaluation but also with a real automation prototype, where one sample testcase becomes automated with your application under test.

After your order of a tool prototype our test automation expert will contact you shortly, so you will have direct personal contact for all necessary steps and information exchange.

Provide a sample test case description

The sample testcase description describes the testcase which you want to have automated. You can provide this description textual, with screenshots or a video of the manual steps. It is important, that you include all possibly problematic GUI-sections of your application under test. That could be a tree-control, tables, ajax-based components etc. Sometimes our customers do not have a real testcase available, in this case you can provide a sample page, which includes all possibly problematic controls instead.

We then try to automate all controls on the sample page or the whole testcase. With more than 10 years of test automation experience we know, where potential problems might occur and we also know where workaraounds might be possible.

Provide access to your application under test

Our test automation expert needs access to your application under test or your GUI-control sample. This could be online or you send us a installable demo. If it is necessary, it is also possible to sign a non-disclosure agreement or to use a vpn access for security reasons.

You have completed the project survey and and the tool preselection. Our test automation expert develops your tool prototype. You will receive the full source code with documentation, a video, which shows the running automation result and a short report which summarises the results and identified problems/work arounds.
